Eine kleine Sensation an der Wittekindsburg

Very rare and sensational!

In 1996 archaeologists discovered a monument of great historical and art historical importance at Wittekind castle: the foundations and wall remains of a cruciform church from the 10th century - an archaeological and architectural rarity in Europe.
The quarry stone walls that have been preserved and laid in clay, form the shape of a Greek cross are about 14 meters long. Five graves were uncovered in the interior of the church, three of which are children's graves. The historical remains of the cruciform church are protected from the elements by a roof made of glass.
